New product tax proposed on second-hand textiles and clothing in Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s Ministry of Environment and Water plans to introduce a product tax on second-hand textiles, clothing and footwear, which will be used to help pay for their disposal.

The proposals are part of amendments to the Waste Management Act submitted to the National Assembly before the summer vacation, without first being discussed with the industry.
