Recovery plan for breakaway state’s textile industry

The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria), the breakaway state located between the river Dniester and the Ukrainian border that is internationally recognised as part of Moldova, has announced plans for the recovery of the textile industry, which is the state’s third largest industrial sector in terms of annual output in value terms after electricity and ferrous metallurgy.

The industry’s overall output last year was valued at US$30m, according to the Pridnestrovian State Statistics Committee.
