Report uncovers labour abuses in Malaysian clothing factories

An investigation into the working conditions at Malaysian clothing factories by a New York, USA-based non-governmental organisation has uncovered evidence that some workers manufacturing clothing for major retailers were working in conditions that included forced labour.

The report by Transparentem, which is dedicated to investigating apparel supply chain ethics, uncovered multiple violations at five Malaysian clothing factories that supply to well-known Western brands.
