Romanian fashion market worth almost US$6bn

Businesses in Romania’s fashion industry are continuing to grow. According to KeysFin study, the main players in the local fashion market, valued at nearly US$6bn, are H&M, Zara, C&A and Pepco. Around 83% of the market is controlled by foreign investors, while in the manufacturing sector the majority of businesses (62%) belong to local firms.

Most investors are from China (1,957 companies in 2016), Italy (793) and Turkey (585), and the biggest turnovers are made by the Italians, with more than RON2.12bn (US$560m) in 2016.
