Russian ban on textile and clothing imports a possibility

Russia’s Ministry of Economy Ministry is reported to have drafted a list of goods that may be banned, including vehicle imports, particularly used cars, as well as textiles and clothing.

Officials at Russia’s Ministry of Industry said that, should additional US and EU sanctions be imposed, Russia may retaliate with a complete ban on imports of textiles and clothing from these markets. (In August, Russia banned food imports from Western countries worth US$9bn annually.)
