Russian government expects recovery of textile industry by end of year

The Russian government expects the beginning of a recovery of the domestic textile industry from the effects of the economic crisis by the end of the year, according to Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov (pictured).

He believes low production costs, in particular labour costs, are a major competitive advantage of the Russian textile industry compared with most European and Asian countries, which should hasten its recovery.
