The Russian government is considering creating conditions for the recovery of cotton production to reduce the country’s dependence on imports.
According to state plans, most cotton will be produced in the Astrakhan region, which has the best climatic conditions for cotton growing and where the latest harvest has exceeded all the records over the past 30 years, with yield reaching 13 kg/ha, twice the figure planned.
