Russian scientists cultivate new strain of flax fibre

A new strain of flax fibre for the production of textiles and pulp has been cultivated by scientists of the Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture and Peat.

Called Tomic, the new cultivar has been included in the state register of selective breeding and has received patent protection from Russian authorities.
