Automotive seating supplier Adient has appointed Frederick Henderson as interim chief executive officer (CEO) and lead director John Barth as chairman.
This follows the sudden resignation of Bruce McDonald (pictured), who has stepped down from his role as chairman and CEO, but will remain as an advisor to the CEO until 30 September.
Ireland-based Adient, with around 85,000 employees and 238 manufacturing plants and assembly facilities in 34 countries worldwide, has struggled financially since its spinoff in 2016 from Johnson Controls.
The company, which is headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan USA, recently reduced its profit forecast. It said the profits relates to “continued challenges” in the seat structures and mechanisms segment.
