Sioen Industries acquires sailcloth maker

Sioen Industries, a producer of technical textiles, fine chemicals and high-tech protective clothing, has acquired 100% of the shares of Dimension-Polyant, a manufacturer of sailcloth.

It has been agreed that the acquisition worth €38m will take retroactive effect as of 1 January 2016.

Dimension-Polyant has two manufacturing facilities – in Kempen, Germany, and Putnam, Connecticut, USA – and sales offices in France, the UK and Australia, geographically close to its customer base.

Established in 1966, Dimension-Polyant is said to have a global market share of sailcloth manufacturing of more than 40%.
