With support from the EU and GIZ, Smart Myanmar has developed an educational smartphone app for industrial workers in Myanmar called Shwe Job.

On International Workers’ Day (1 May), Smart Myanmar celebrated the public launch of this app in the Google Play Store with local civil society organisation Thone Pann Hla in Hlaing Thar Yar Township, where around 120 clothing workers joined the event.

Shwe Job aims to teach garment workers about good practices for occupational health and safety in the factory and to increase awareness and knowledge of the existing labour laws in Myanmar. The app uses a combination of stories, illustrations and voiceovers.
