Suminoe Textile to construct floor mat plants in Mexico and Indonesia

Suminoe Textile of Japan is to construct plants for manufacturing automotive floor mat in Mexico and Indonesia.

In Mexico, the company will build a production facility to supply mats for 40,000 a month for Mazda, Honda and Nissan plants in the country. The factory will be located in Guanafat Industrial Area in Central Mexico on an area of 3,300 m2 and an investment of ¥60m (US$585,000).

The Indonesian plant is a joint venture with a local textile company in which Suminoe has a 51% share with an investment of ¥50m (US$485,000). Construction of the 3,300 m2 facility is already under way and will start operation in early 2014, producing floor mats for 40,000 cars a month.
