Support for hemp production in Russia

The Russian government has approved state subsidies for building and repairing factories that specialise in the production of fabrics from flax and hemp, which is aimed at reducing the country’s dependence on imports – at present, more than two thirds of flax for the production of fabric is imported.

It is planned that these subsidies will cover up to 50% of the costs for the reconstruction and establishment of textile enterprises.
