Teijin JV begins full-scale production of airbag fabrics in China

Teijin Frontier, the Teijin Group’s fibre product converting company, has started full-scale production at NI Teijin Airbag Fabric (Nantong), a joint venture (JV) engaged in manufacturing and sales of fabrics for automotive airbags.

NI Teijin Airbag Fabric (Nantong) was established in October 2011 to produce airbag fabrics on an integrated basis, from weaving to coating. It is located within the premises of Nantong Teijin, a Teijin group company engaged in manufacturing, dyeing, processing and selling polyester textiles.

Teijin Frontier owns a majority 50.1% stake in the JV; the other owners include Asahi Kasei Fibers (33.4%), Iwasa Orimono (8.25%) and Chukoh Chemical Industries (8.25%).
