One of the largest cotton production units in Russia will soon be launched in the Stavropol region with an investment estimated at RUB12.2bn (US$193m).
The project is being implemented by Russian agricultural enterprise Tersky and involves growing cotton on an area of 4,400 hectares at the initial stage, producing 20,000 tonnes of raw cotton annually by October 2020 with an average yield of 40 centners per hectare.
