According to the US Department of Agriculture, Thailand’s cotton imports in marketing year (MY) 2017/18 (commencing 1 August) are forecast to increase 3-4% from 2016/17 in anticipation of a sustained recovery by spinning mills that have been in a downturn since 2014.
Cotton yarn inventories are likely to decline to a record low in 2016/17.
