Thomas Cook introduces beds in economy class

UK-based leisure carrier Thomas Cook Airlines is introducing the Sleeper Seat, a flat-bed option for economy class.

These seats, which will launch on selected long-haul flights from mid-May, are available at the rear of the economy cabin on the airline’s Airbus A330 fleet, where the last five centre rows go from quads to triples owing to the taper of the fuselage.

If any of these five triples are available, a passenger can pay an extra £200 to have the crew transform the row into a flat bed.
