Topp Textile to take over Ploucquet waistband production in Romania

German textile producer Ploucquet Group is to sell its European waistband business in Romania to accessory producer Gerhard Topp as part of a new long-term strategic alliance between the two companies.

The Ploucquet Textil in Brasov specialises in manufacturing pants components. The transaction will allow the Ploucquet Group to focus on the treatment and finishing of linings for the fashion textile sector, which are produced in Zittau, Germany.

At the same time, Ploucquet, a Sympatex Holding affiliate, will expand its business area of technical textiles through the Tection division, also based in Zittau.
