A fruit company has partnered with a Philippines-based social enterprise to turn agricultural banana waste into fibres that are woven into textiles by prison inmates.
The Dole Sunshine Company is working with Musa Fabric on the Kasilak Development Foundation programme in the Philippines that aims to reduce waste and carbon dioxide emissions while benefiting disadvantaged communities and prisoners in the highlands of Bukidnon.
