Unicharm acquires Thailand-based diaper manufacturer

Japan-based hygiene products company Unicharm is to acquire the holding company of DSG International (Thailand), a manufacturer of diapers and other absorbent products in Southeast Asia.

The deal, reported to be worth US$530m, will significantly enhance Unicharm’s range of low- and mid-priced diapers in the region, while also adding production capacity in several new countries.
