Textile producer Baltic Textile has opened a new facility for production and administrative functions in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania. The company has invested about LTL4m (US$1.4m) in the renovation of the former canning factory in the town by the company, which has been financed with capital from Lithuania and Denmark. There are also plans to upgrade production equipment at the site in the future.
Baltic Textile makes upholstery fabrics with more than 90% of output exported to Nordic markets. The company, which is also a sales representative of Gabriel office furniture fabrics in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, has been operating in Marijampole up to now.
