Production in the Uzbek light industry, which includes textiles, clothing and footwear, increased by 13.2% in 2013 compared with the previous year, according to data from the State Committee on Statistics.
Uzbekistan’s light industry produced goods worth UZS7.955trn (US$3.6bn) in 2013, accounting for 13% of the country’s total industrial output; in 2012, the light industry’s share was 12.9%.
