Vietnamese denim production needs green growth

Denim production in Vietnam has high growth potential and is attracting more investors, but green production in the textile and clothing industry is essential to protect the environment, experts said at a conference in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the Denimsandjeans Vietnam exhibition in June.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, general secretary of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas), said that 55-60% of the demand for materials for jeans production could be satisfied domestically.
