Weibo to begin work on textile project in Macedonia

China-based Weibo Group, which specialises in supply chain and production for leading global retailers and brands, is expected to start construction of its Macedonian textile project by the end of 2014.

According to a statement from the Macedonian government, Weibo will complete the construction of its textile project in less than 18 months, which will provide 5,000 new jobs when operational.

In April, Weibo Group announced it would set up Europe’s largest integrated textile and ready-to-wear industrial zone in the northeast region of Macedonia with an investment of US$400m.

Weibo is a merchandising-production organisation, managing the sourcing requirements of numerous clients, which include global brands, speciality and department stores, catalogue companies and importers in North America and Europe.
