Wool scouring and topmaking plant to open in Malaysia

A new wool processing plant – Compass Wool Processors (CWP) – is poised to become a central processing hub for the global wool industry.

Located just 10 km from the Singapore western border crossing, on the Malaysian peninsula in the state of Johor, and about one hour from Singapore’s Changi Airport, the facility is expected to start production in the second quarter of 2013, according to CEP business manager Stefan Bernerius.

By mid-2013, the plant is scheduled to be able to scour about 800 tonnes per month of greasy wool and produce about 250 tonnes of combed tops.
