ZF is to launch new airbag concepts, including a passenger and curtain airbag system with either V or U-shaped design features. The system is designed to better protect both front seat occupants from serious injuries even if the vehicle collides head-on and from the left at 90 km/h.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will add this performance test scenario, known as the oblique moving deformable barrier, for the North American New Car Assessment Program for new vehicles from 2019.
