Zoltek Industries is to increase production capacity by 50% at its carbon fibre plant in Nyergesújfalu, Hungary.
By 2020 the plant will be making 15,000 tonnes of PX35 50-k carbon fibre annually, with a further 10,000 tonnes/year currently being produced at a facility in Jalisco, Mexico.
The expansion of the Nyergesújfalu facility will cost US$130m and create 350 jobs. The Hungarian government is supporting the project with more than HUF8bn (US$31.5m).
