Indonesian polyester staple fibre consumption improves

Indonesian consumption of polyester staple fibre (PSF) improved after the imposition of anti-dumping duties in the second quarter of this year, according to Redma Gita Wirawasta, executive director of the Indonesian Synthetic Fiber Producers Association (APSyFI).

Indonesia produced 180,000 tonnes of polyester fibre in the second quarter of 2016 compared with 120,000 tonnes in the first quarter. PSF production in the first half of the year was 300,000 against 200,000 tonnes in the first half of 2015.
