Battery prototype with fibre-shaped cathode
Researchers at North Carolina State University have developed a cathode in the shape of a thread-like fibre, which was then used to create a zinc-ion battery prototype that could power a wristwatch.
The proof-of-concept study is said to be a step forward in the development of a fibre-shaped battery that could be integrated into garments.
