Researchers at the UK’s Nottingham Trent University have developed textiles embedded with more than 1,000 miniature solar cells that can charge a smart watch or mobile phone.
A research project headed by Dr Theodore Hughes-Riley, associate professor of electronic textiles at the university’s School of Art & Design, has led to the development of a woven textile equipped with 1,200 photovoltaic cells.
